The numbers (911) is our nation standard number for making emergency phone calls, which is a needed life-saving system in times of emergency. Nevertheless, we (believers) should never bypass making 911 calls to God. Many times we become so emotionally overwhelmed or beaten down by our circumstances, that we lose thought of God’s awesome power. Admittedly, it’s sometimes very difficult to remember how awesome God is in addressing our trying situations. However, we must learn to trust God, not on the basis of what we feel, but on the basis of who God is. Often your feelings are out of sort during bad circumstances. So as a believer, you can have peace and real hope in the midst of  life’s troubling circumstances. The Lord God holds our lives in the palm of His great and mighty hand.

In this sermon lesson we have the biblical accounts of God’s timely responding to His Believer Hezekiah’s 911 calls. Now embrace this truth, our nation 911 emergency system is one of the best in the world, although not perfect. Thus it cannot match nor compare in any aspect to God’s perfect 911 for His Believers. Yet when difficulties come we tend to rely more on fellow mankind’s help  than that of unfailing all powerful God. As believers our first call 911 (prayer) should be to God. Lamentations 3:21-24, hope is revived when we remember that the Lord’s mercies and compassion are  new every morning and that His faithfulness is great and unwavering toward His own. However it is very difficult to wait quietly for the Lord’s guidance and deliverance. Because life’s troubling circumstances wear us out both physically and spiritually.

Notice, Hezekiah’s life and reign as king of Judah. God stated he was a godly person, yet he did sin when relied on Egypt for military help. Be aware all of mankind sin and fall short of the glory of God. Now  the strong Assyrian king Sennacherib threaten to attack and capture Jerusalem. No doubt his making an alliance with Egypt didn’t help at all. His 911 call should have been directed to all powerful God who knows beforehand and sees everything that goes on  throughout his universe. Besides He rule and super rule in the affairs of all mankind. As a consequence for Hezekiah’s foolish sin he ended up paying protection fees to king Sennacherib. Thereby depleting Jerusalem’s treasure and pride possession he  did didn’t satisfy king Sennacherib.

This lets believers know they cannot compromise with Satan’s people. Be reminded the Lord  God said to His own, ” Trust in me with all your heart and rely not on your own way or that of other”. VS. 14, at this point Hezekiah became desperate, so he made an urgent 911 call (prayer) to God. Who is” our refuge and strength an ever present help in troubling times”, The Lord God always give never asking us for any of our  stuff. He simply asked “that we confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead”. During our lifetime the necessity for making 911 calls to God never stop. Therefore it is imperative for every believer to daily make 911 calls (prayer)  to God. The Lord God invites us to approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive help in our time of need.
